Why, thank you Pat! I'm sure it will all come together
very soon...

OK.. just arrived here having wrapped another answer to
you about ensuring your box is in USALS mode and not
DiSEqC 1.2.. You'll know, or will see, what I mean when
you get to that reply..

Yup.. all OK, /except/ the "1.2". If that is all you
have (or can find) try using any arrow keys that you
have to change the "1.2" to "USALS".
By the way, if you let us all know which box you now have
- someone may know better where your USALS menu is hiding...

OK.. make sure that you have 'stored' the positions and
that your box is in USALS mode...

Um.. my LiDL (COMAG) box can sometimes take ages to settle
down once in position after a satellite change. The dish
moves fairly slowly if precisely with the Metronics motor,
but the box then takes a few more seconds or more to retune
itself to the new satellite, even though all the channels
are already stored. It seems to 'hunt' for the best
position/reception...
One think I don't do is attempt to 'force' the issue by
pressing "exit" or somesuch. Might be uneccessary, but
I'm a little wary of the box and motor momentarily losing
or forgetting where they are.
Sometimes I can locate a satellite - and find there's nothing
there. Everything is apparently 'dead'. What I do then,
(discovered by the time-honoured method of trial and error),
is to move forward or back to another satellite - and then
reselect one of the dead sat's channels again. The box, the
motor and the dish usually find them second time around!
...or occasionally that channel really is dead!
