Michael (and Pat), this link (hope it stays together on the line):

...suggests that the experience of other Users that you're both
correct to be wary about the trickiness of aligning a toroidal.

The shere number of LNBs must also be a considerable expense
and weight, unless one only wants two or three satellites.

No personal experience though; opted for motorised - much
easier with USALS - with basically an almost limitless number
of satellites and positions across the arc, with only one LNB.
Much better value!

Mind, the motor should be working in the first place with the
mount, the motor and the (much cheaper) dish properly wired up
and aligned.
