good luck with Dish. The new receivers do not have smart cards. The old ones dish does a search for. Not many (if any) dish systems are hacked.
Direct is an other story. the smart chip can be altered, but you have to changer it every 90 days. If you get caught, you may spend time in jail. A guy here got 2 years.
