We have been having this same problem - but with our 2nd receiver at the same location. I have to constantly reset the receiver - we had the original receiver we started with in 2001, after several phone calls to customer service they finally sent us a newer receiver and have not had a problem since.
To reset the old receiver I would have to unplug the receiver from the wall for about 20 seconds then plug it back in. Sometimes this would not work so I would have to also undo the cable from the back of the receiver then reattach - it was a pain.
