Tipping for DirecTv Installer?

I'm getting DirecTv installed this Friday and wonder if it is a norm to tip the installer when he/she is done? If so, how much? Thanks!

No, you do not tip them. You can offer them something to drink or eat and they will probably like that.

dont know about direct TV installer.. but tipping the cable guy is norm....only if they install it neatly and the way you want it.. and if the stay and give you an education on how to work it and sure you are comfortable with it.. if they just do the job 10 bucks... but if he goes out of his way to hide the cables and spend 20 - 40 minutes explaining it to you proabley 20 bucks if there are 2 then 15 each hope this helps

Only if extra service beyond the norm is provided at your request.

this is what i think ....

STANDARD installs are FREE.....

most installs in one manner or another are not considered a STANDARD install...

usually something might be said to indicate this ....

however many installs will never get installed if the customer is told that it is going to cost him ....all he knows is that it is supposed to be FREE...

so many installers will go head & give alittle to get the keep the install... & not leave empty handed...

so ... if you get a really good install & you like the way everything has turned out ... why not tip ........ it is totally up to you .....
