i have the directv rc16 universal remote that i got from the hd receiver but we had an extra one so i decided 2 use it w/ my receiver which is a regular one i programmed it and it works fine w/ the receiver but i wen i progammed it w/ my tv (its a panasonic) i can only use mute and change the volume but i cant change the channel or turn off the tv any suggestions?

Almost all tv's have more then one code that the remote will work with. If you get the wrong code only a few of the functions will work. Try reprogramming the remote again using the other available codes for your tv type and this should fix your problem.
