hd service with slimdish

Hello I have been a Direct TV Customer for more than two years. In August I decided to upgrade to hd and its been a nightmare since. The techs not showing or being here for 5 minutes and leaving, etc. Before I asked for HD I explained that I had a tripole on the roof, I was assured by one of their specialists that the tripole could be used; I again checked and was told by their installation dept. that the slim dish would fit on my current tripole. Today was scheduled was suppose to be a supervisor visit but instead another tech showed up and said that the tripole could not be used. I sincerely like their programming but what I do not get is that its always something else where ever they show up. Today it was some maple tree that is not even on my property; I was told that if I cut that down, I could get hd. Now its a supposedly 72 hour wait for a Supervisor to survey the situation and no one has to be home for the visit. Okay, again. I would think there is a creative way to get that hd slimline dish situated in the right place; there is lots of roof space if needed. I am in a quandry as to what to do going forward; try dish network or go back to cable for hd which I do not want to do. Thanks for listening, any ideas?

If you get fed up with DTV, DO NOT GO YO CABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dish will give you a free system.
HGowever.. to address your problem. If the same location can be used, there is a 2" comversion pole that can be put on(over) your exsisting mount.

The new slimeline dish comes with a complete new mount.
It just sounds like the techs that have been there are just lazy & not wanting to take the time..
The other option (if no shot off the roof) is a pole mount. The techs should have a 2" pole with them. There will be a charge for this (25-99.00) which may or may not include the cable bury. The cable just needs to be below the sod line.
Tech 10 years.

re: Direct tv

Thanks very much, Dishroger. I really do appreicate knowing about all the alternatives as far as install goes. I am not sure why none of these approaches were not mentioned by DTV to the install firm. In the meantime I will look into Dish Network; I truly do not want to go with cable.

Hi dishroger. I am not in Wisconsin. I am in the central part of New York State. We have time warner, DTV and Dish Network; FIOS TV will be here in about a year's time.

This is a very informative post ,especially ,since if this can be achieved with the 2" pole as suggested by the 2nd post ,it will solve my similar problem, can the OP reply if the problem has been solved regarding this.
