I have an account with Direct TV. I have 3 receivers, 2 at my main home and the other receiver at my Lake House. The Lake House receiver is not connected to a phone line. This setup has worked great for 3 years. This past weekend we turned on the Lake receiver and could only tune in the Direct TV preview channel 200 and the Direct TV basics channel 201. Every other channel gave the number for ordering information. I called my son at home and had him check the other 2 receivers. They were working perfectly. I brought the Lake receiver home today and connected it to the home dish and it worked perfectly (without being connected to phone line). Any ideas??? Just a note, I actually have a stronger signal at the lake than at home. Thanks for the help.

We have been having this same problem - but with our 2nd receiver at the same location. I have to constantly reset the receiver - we had the original receiver we started with in 2001, after several phone calls to customer service they finally sent us a newer receiver and have not had a problem since.

To reset the old receiver I would have to unplug the receiver from the wall for about 20 seconds then plug it back in. Sometimes this would not work so I would have to also undo the cable from the back of the receiver then reattach - it was a pain.
