DTV Video on Demand with an APC battery backup...
I have a question about setting up DirecTV VOD with an APC Back-UPS NS 1250 battery backup.
I initially had a setup with a wall mount Ethernet adapter connected to my DirecTV while the other end was a Powerstrip with an Ethernet cable connected to my router. We couldn’t get VOD to work in our new home, after talking with a DTV rep, we thought it might have been the Powerstrip gone bad since the Powerline link or Ethernet link light would never turn on anymore. What I did was purchase a battery backup that has a data port on the back along with two telephone/network ports (one in / one out). The instructions are lousy for the APC battery – where do I plug the Ethernet from the router to? I am not sure if it should be in the data port, network in, or network out. Also, I am wondering if this setup will even work with the VOD wall mount Ethernet adapter. Would I be better off to just buy another wall mount adapter from DTV? Thanks in advance for all your help. |
