Well I finally got my satellite working in my RV which is in Cali but I brought my receiver which was installed in Tenn so on the setup page it lists my Tenn area code. Do I need to chage this and if so how? When I go to the guide it lists my home channels from Tenn (such as local news) but the time is shown as two hours later ( which is correct since I am currently in the PST zone) but of coarse when I try to go to them they are blacked out. So I guess I need to ask if I can pick up the local news channels in the area I am in and again if so - how? Also, if I sign up for the sports package will I get it on the receiver in Cali and the one I left behind in Tenn (it is still plugged up at home)? Thanks in advance.

I really don't know what is needed for an RV.
But if you have two homes and one account either one has to be on and one has to be off. So if you don't have any other receivers at home or on at home then just telephone Direct and tell them where you are. |

I recently moved from NJ to Texas. I wanted to keep some of the local sports channels (ie. Knicks games on MSG) so when we installed the system we used my NJ zip code. In some rooms we use the Texas zip and in some we use NJ zip. Knick games are blacked out on the Texas zip but work fine in the NJ rooms. The guide is off by one hour due to the time zone difference but I can receive all the local channels also. We lived in the mountains in NJ there was no reception via an antenna so we got our local stuff through the dish. I asked DirectTV about using the NJ zip before we moved and they had no problem with it.
In your RV I imagine this will work you just need to find the right zips and rerun set up as you move around. The alternative would be to just use an antenna in additon to the dish |
