Direct or dish, hear me out

I have been a dish customer for about 4years now. I have 6 tv's with 3 receivers. All tv's are HD. So I'm in SAMs club the other day and the salesman starts pushing direct to me, tells me he can lower the bill about 1/2 of what it is currently(130.00) for the first year, saves me about 600 dolla rs the first year, a after that it goes to about the same price. During the sales pitch he tells me that I have a lot more movies to choose from, more sats, newer up to date equipment that has rf remotes, more channels that I don't watch, more hd channels, more hard drive space, yada, yada, but.....hd on all tv's which did intrigue me. Signed on the dotted line. Sub came out and installed the system, nice install the new system with it's rf remotes is really slick, boxes nice and small, fit in tight spots. Programming seems about the same, extra channels are crap like I figured, picture quality is very good.....here's the kicker... Can't pause and rewind live tv, wtf so you tell me, newer equipment can't do what I've been doing for the last 8 or so years with dish and local cable? System has been installed about 10 days and I think I'm going back to dish, just unacceptable, a deal breaker, person at support for direct told me to hit record when I watch tv, you have to be kidding, really. What say you, hd on all tv's but no record, but if you are watching a movie you can stop and watch in three different rooms, ala the advertisements that they are running, for whatever good that does you, what good is that feature anyway? Makes no sense to me, just let me rewind when I want to see what the he'll the guy just said because my daughter asked me a question and I didn't hear.....think they dropped he ball on this one, your thoughts, havent canceled dish yet

I have had DirectTV for awhile and previously had Dish. I switched to get NFL Sunday Ticket but other than that do not see much difference between the 2 systems. I recently moved and did get some new DVRs installed as part of that move. I can rewind and rewatch parts of a show when I want without recording so I don't really understand why you can't. If DirectTV is less expensive I would stick with it and call them back to really understand why this feature doesn't work on your system. I have always found ther support to be good.
