Cable vs. Dish Network, should i switch? Advice wanted!?
I'm a Time Warner Cable customer in Cincinnati. TW drastically increased their rates. I have 1 tv in my house and its an HDTV. I use TW for my internet with Roadrunner. Here is a break down of what I'm paying for a month with TWDigital Cable + High Speed Data - includes basic tier, standard tier, value tier, music choice & Roadrunner -$98.33Variety Tier-$5.95Hi-Def DVR Converter box -$7.64DVR Function -$9.95Hi-Def Tier- $6.95Remote - 31 (cents)Total after tax is approximately $134.You can see the the channels i get with the link and the color coded tiers.http://www.twcinci.com/cable/lineup/defa...Those with Dish Network what do you pay per month and what channel package do you have? I don't have any premium movie channels etc. Also, do you have to have a home phone line for Dish? What do you do if you don't have a home phone? If possible be as descriptive as possible for me so i can weigh my options. Thanks!

why would you want to buy something that has the word "dish" in it. think about it, all you will be doing is dishing out your money and there wont be anything on tv, so you'll probably end up doing dishes. and look out for the "fork" network. coming to your area soon.

Hey, we moved to Michigan a couple years ago and can't wait to watch TV when we go back home to West Chester and Fairfield to visit family...all cause of Time Warner. We have Comcast up here. First, they are about 2 steps behind Time Warner @ all times. It took them forever to get OnDemand. Their customer service sucks and to top it all off, they cost more per month than Time Warner cost us back home. BUT!!! I keep my cable b/c I have Dish Network @ work....sux and sux some more.It IS true that your picture goes out in bad weather and if it doesn't go all the way out, it's very grainy (and then what's the point of HD?)PLUS you are prolly addicted to Roadrunner instead of the lower speed options you have (is FUSE still around?) and you are going to have to keep that option, which would go up after you drop cable TVThe only thing I wish Comcast would have that Dish Network has is Sunday Ticket. (They hardly ever broadcast the Bengals up here---fan since I was young) But we have made it a regular gathering every Sunday during football season to go to our local watering hole and watch Sunday Ticket there.Stick with the cable
