TV2 on a DVR is UHF, not infra red. You have to have a remote that is UHF. That is why the small antenna is on the back of the receiver. I do not know what you will pay for an UHF remote, but I bet you can get a Dish UHF remote much cheaper on Ebay. Otherwise from Dish or a retailer they run about 30.00
