My dish network is not working from 8:00-8:30pm???

I have talked to technical support twice on this problem. The past two days, from 8:00-8:30pm EST, my dish has had to "ACQUIRE SIGNAL" with errors 002 or Attention 015. It only happens from this time, but it goes on for the whole 1/2 hour. I have done all the dianostic solutions tech support gives, (which do not work), and they can give me no reason for why it would be going out. I have Dish Protection Plan and it will cost me $29 to have someone come out, but I think the problem is in their signal and not my equipment. Before I spend the $29, does anyone know what's going on? They won't refund the money if it is in fact their fault (I asked them this, and they said "It's not our fault because no one else is having an outage". I just have trouble believing that the system would work the other 23 1/2 hours of the day. The tech support guy said it's not sun spots either. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

I used to work for dish and did their tech support. If you have been a good paying customer and have had the service for more than like 6 months they can waive your $29 service fee. If not, threaten to cancel your service...they will send you to the cancellation department and you can demand all kinds of free stuff there. Hope this helps.

If never had to do this but I've played with the menus before. I'll put in as much info as I can but forgive me if it's not enough...First, make sure your dish is aimed properly (I think the trouble shooting menu will tell you how to aim it) and nothing is blocking the view to the sky like a tree or something. There is a service menu that you can actually pick the satellites that you want to lock on to. At 7:50am, try to manually "re-aquire" your signal. You should be able to add the new satellite to your list.Good luck

Someone is Generating a signal in that band. Do you live near a airport or military base? These would have the equipment to generate this type of signal. Also tech support has multiple layers so ask to speak to the higher ups as you go if you don't get satisfaction. If they can't deal with the outage or switch carriers. This could fix your problem since the transmission although in the same band is at a different freq so it will couple less and have better immunity.Have fun!
