Dish Network/ Verizon online vs. Comcast digital cable/ Broadband internet?

We currently have Dish Network for our tv services and Verizon Online for our internet services, but thinking of switching over. Our dish and internet seem to go out when the slightest cloud appears in the sky. Do you experience the same probs? Would you recommend switching to Comcast? Or if possible, any other recommendations for the NW Indiana area? As always, thanks in advance.Oh- and we've had the repair guy here for the internet probs countless times, by the way.

Send a message via Yahoo to dishrodger
do not know about your internet, but Dish is another thing.
If your dish goes out with clouds, then the dish is either not alined (peaked) right or need to be moved.

I have had dish network direct tv and comcast and out of them all comcast was the most unstable during storms. If your dish is going out that muhc it sounds like it wasnt installed properly. Is your dish tight or can it move really easily. You may need to tighten it up. Is there trees that may blow in front of the dish if so you may need to trim them back a bit. My sat is pointed directly at a tree and the only time it goes out is when i dont pay the bill. Ive noticed my picture is much brighter when useing sat then with cable. Rember with sat tv if your picture is crap the problem is with your equiptment or your wireing with cable all your stuff could be fine but your neighbor may be running crappy cable or everyone on the block could be stealing cable and your picture looks like crap and there is nothing you can do about it.now for the internet side of things. Comcast is faster then dsl but it is much less relaible. And what good is the fast speeds if you are not allowed to use it. comcast has what they call invisible caps basically you are only allowed to download so much a month before they send you a thretning letter that you will be blacklisted from comcast if you dont cut down your bandwith usage they wont tell you what that limit is or how much you need to cut down by but comcast whats there customers to do a little web browsing and check email and thats it if you go anywhere near a p2p network they complain like mad. As for your personaly information I could call comcast right now and tell them I found you shareing my copywritted meteral and they will give me your personal information off your ip address This is a major security issue If you tryed the same thing with verizon they would tell me to kiss off.Customer service do you really want to get me started. Comcast automatically assumes your a idiot. If your service is down there only solution is to reboot your pc if that dosnt work they want to roll a truck which they will try and charge you for. Verizon has sat on the phone with me for hrs working in fixing a problem and they listen to my input. So if your in a area that only gtes cable then cable is better then dialup but if verizon is a option id stay with them dont just atke my word on it check out www.dslreports.com and read the isp reviews

i've had dish network, and direct tv and hate them both. if you live somewhere where it constantly rains there is no point in having it. it goes out just when your favorite show climaxes. digital cable is the way to go if you want premium channels.

I've had Comcast high speed ever since it became available here and I haven't had any problems. They offer some things free for a whole year too. The speed is great and I found that it got faster after I upgraded my pc. You'll save $3.00 a month by purchasing your own cable modem from Best Buy. If you have their cable television too you'll get a $15.00 discount.

I have the same, My dish goes out at times. My Verizon DSL has been very reliable; and my wireless PC is very far away from my main PC and modem. No complaints with the Verizon internet...

Comcast

Don't. Seriously, don't switch to Comcast. They have cute commercials and everything, but the service is terrible. I've had comcast in the past and it went out constantly. When I called to ask for help, they would refer me to the website. When I would check the website, they'd refer me to customer service.

You're way better off sticking with Dish Network. Have you looked into their internet services?

I don't use either anymore, I have had comcast and my brother has Dish Network. I have had nothing but problems with Comcast and their customer service is terrible. Some places have a lot of luck with Comcast but they have a lot of crappy nodes and networks all over the country. If you live in a good one then you have good service, if you live in a bad one then your service is terrible.

My brother has never had any problems with Dish he uses it for both internet and TV. It won't hurt to investigate it, he got it through USDish Dish Network | Save $300! Call 1.877.401.6561 | DishNetwork Deals. Try giving them a call and see what they say.
