dish network problems

i been had the dish for 5 months now, and it has been nothing but
problems, the signal keeps going out, i call the dish network people
many times to come to my home and check the dish, when they cam out they
fixed, but a month later there is more problems with the signal going
out, again, i've had the techs come out here 4 time now to fix the dish
so it can get a signal, now i am having the same problems again, and it
is getting frustrating, i have called them once again to come out and
check the dish, i don't know what the hell is going on, i am new at
having satellite tv, so i know nothing about how it works,

i been had cable for 25 years, and with all the problems i am having
with the dish, i am seriouly thinking about going back to cable tv, this
dish thing just ain't cuttin with me, i have to wait a whole week before
they send a tech out here to check my dish, that is not right, i ditched
cable for this?, i am now sorry that i did.

why is there so many problems with the dish?, can you tell me what to
do?.

Hello-
There are some things that need to be checked:
Is there a good, clear "line of sight?" That is, are there no trees or branches near the dish itself? As trees grow and bloom, and as the wind blows the branches, it can play havoc with reception. Bad weather can disrupt reception also.
If the issue is reception, then it is probably most certainly an issue with the dish and mast itself. Possibly it is mounted in an unfavorable or unstable spot. The mast may not have been checked to assure it is level both vertically and horizontially, and/or the skew and elevation settings on the polar plate may not be correct....or the bolts are not being tightened good.
The guys coming out, are they Dishnet certified, or are they just someone hired by the local retailer with no real training?
You might also check to see it it's grounded. That has nothing to do with reception, but any installer who knows what he's doing will have grounded it.

Most likely it is some minor problem such as an interference issue or something in the way. Perhaps the original install was done incorrectly. It is unusual to be losing your signal that much. The people who install the dish are certified yes. I hope it works out for you.

suggestions with credit card Terminal

First, this probably isnt the right area to post this. Sorry, but im desperate. You guys seem to be good with with computer related stuff. We have a credit card machine and everything was working well until we went from Cox cable to DSL. Our credit card unit now will NOT connect through ethernet..only dial up. We have checked our router that it is plugged into and the port is flickering so we know its connected. All of our desktops connect to the internet all day long without issues .Anyone have any suggestions!?!? Thanks in advance!
