Dish Network has left me speechless!

Hey everyone, first post here. I need to sound off on something that happened to me recently and see what people's thoughts are on it.

On Thursday night I came home to find a few coaxial cables laying in my garden (funny I don't remember planting those) and looked up to see that my Dish 500 had been removed from the side of my patio and a Dish 1000 had been put in its place. I called Dish immediatly to ask what the heck happened. The guy who I spoke to was so helpless it wasn't even funny. He kept telling me that no changes were made to my account, nor would I pay more for my service so why am I worrying? Ok, fine, that's good news but it doesn't assist me in the fact that someone came onto my porch and removed something that was bolted to my house.

The next morning I got a better look at it in the sunlight and saw that 4 new coax cables had been drilled all the way around the side of the condo building and were going into my neighbors house. Needless to say I was PISSED. This guy had the audacity after I told him I wasn't interested in sharing my Dish service with him to call them anyway and get the technician to take my Dish without permission and put a different one up that could serve both households. To make matters worse when I asked Dish during my 1st phone call with them if they allow two seperate households to sign up with one Dish, and they told me no way, they don't do that. It's against their policy. At that point I'm worrying that my neighbor has managed to get a technician to do something illegal and now this illegal Dish is attached to my porch, so I filed a police report so it's on record that I had no part in this.

When I called Dish back to let them know that I knew for sure my neighbor had done this and they were violating a policy Dish had already told me about but they could still care less and just kept telling me to call the police after I had already told them I have a case. They also had the nerve to tell me that maybe I didn't remember what my Dish looked like.

There's a lot of things that I'm angry about the few biggest things is one, we get a lot of snow in my area and now my neighbor has to come around my house to clean off the dish if I don't do it before him. Two, because it needs to be cleaned and thus handled, it could be broken, and if that should happen which one of us takes care of the repair?

I know I always have the option of just asking Dish to remove the satellite but that's going to cause stress between me and my neighbor which would not have been an issue if I hadn't been forced into this sharing situation with him. I'm really hesitant to cause any bad blood between us as I don't need two guys who live next door to be angry at me, a girl who lives alone.

Appreciate anyone's thoughts on this or if they've heard of this happening.

Dish Network should remove your neighbor from the Dish asap. This was done without your permission (it sounds borderline illegal) and I don't see any alternative to this really, I know you don't want to cause any problems with your neighbor but you have to explain to them that this was done without your permission and it would be best if they just got their own Dish installed.

I understand this is an old post but I thought I would register and clarify a few points in case someone else has a similar experience. To start with, the OP is NOT involuntarily sharing their Dish account. They are sharing the dish and dish alone. The signal reception, the dishes job, is completely different from the signal decoding, the boxes job after account activation. The receiver or DN for that matter could care less how it receives the sat signal, as along as it gets it. The tech that installed the Dish 1000 probably doesn't even work for DN, he probably works for or as a subcontractor, so calling DN does no good unless you bought directly from their 800 number or website. It also sounds as if the OP lives on the first floor of a condo. If that is the case they need to check there lease or purchase agreements. Most property managers have clauses that state if you mount a sat dish to the building then they have the right extend that signal to units that are unable to mount a dish due to being on the wrong side of the building. This saves the building owners thousands of dollars in dish and switch mounting on the roofs. If this is not the case then simply put a No Trespassing sign sign on the property and cut the cable at the property line. If any one comes on the property to fix it then prosecute. Also the Dish 1000 does not do the job of 2 Dish 500's, it receives signal from a third sat for High Definition.

This is definitely a case where you need to look into the condo rules. If they aren't on your account bill then there is really no harm. A private property sign will usually not deter or stop technicians from coming onto your property. If it is a utility or public service these people generally have easement rights to carry out their business.

The most essential aspect of defense is making sure that your feet are also as quick as your mind. You want to keep your body in balance, losing balance means that the player will be able to get through you and pass the ball to a teammate and go for a shot. cheap basketball jerseys

I will always give a nice thrust look in to you from my bookmark feed. Coffee I don't actually comment and don't like to spend time in typing the comment. But here I have to do this because this deserves a good like.
