Local Channel Issue
I live in PHX, AZ and times are tough. I cancelled my DN service to save the $60 a month bill. My parents live in San Francisco and have been DN customers since 1993. Well they had and extra 625 receiver laying around. They activated it and sent it to me that way I just pay them the $10 a month "extra" receiver charge.
I get all get all the channels they have subscribered to, except I am not getting any local channels. The SF local channels appear in my guide, but when I select one I get the "Sorry for the interruption.... there is no need to call us.... we are working to have this channel back...." This is only an issue for local channels and has been going on for the last two weeks, no matter what time of day I try it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

First off, that is against their customer agreement. Its called account stacking and is a breach of contract.
As for the technical aspect, the locals are sent by the sat via spotbeam, meaning the foot print for any given local market sat signal is slightly larger than what the FCC Nazis say the market demographic is for that area is. |
