For christsakes why don't you buy from an established satellite dealer
as suggested, and that way you'll have some help and support on hand
when you need it!. They more then likely will pre configure it all
before you get it making installation that much easier!....

I had a Fortec Star and the signal was stuck on 40 percent (quality) for
some tranponders (dish was perfectly aimed) - wouldn't budge until I did
a box reset. Lots of other firmware bugs (especially the Ulitmate
model). Conclusion - get a better box with technical better support.
(support told me they wouldn't support the Ultimate because it was an
old model (2004, old, yeah!, right!). Pricks!

OK Final chapter. Its all gone to Maplins today. Got a refund. Chap came
this morning that was supposed to come tomorrow. He said motor was faulty as
it only went east. Also the cable was not fixed to my walls instead the
other installer had left it lying in the guttering which is completely full
of water. He said obviously this may have had only a small effect but the
motor a big one.

Thanks for all the help its greatly appreciated Bill and others.

I am now ordering online from Wizard and getting a Technomate 1000Ci because
the supprt if good.

Thanks again

That was unfortunate to get a dud motor.

It might be worth checking that the next one you get responds to the receiver
(i.e. goes each way) before you
mount it. Good Luck

Before it went up it was checked BUT and here's the thing it was banging
against the guttering so I wonder if its burned out. I think the odds were
against me though 2 faulty boxes and a motor. The second box he said had
USALS and it didnt when I got it home, Software onboard was 2001 if I
remember correctly.

Anyway I am ordering from Wizard after advice from here. Not going to bother
eith eBay to save a few quid will go to a proper shop. Lesson learned

maplins were god in the end, just got a short tempered assistant
