How much costs a sat installation in Ireland?

Hi, I am moving to Ireland to work there for a few months. I would like to
see my home channels from the continent there and so I would like to have a
satellite dish installed. Are there any (cheap?) hardware
suppliers/installers in the Longford area?

There is a huge amount of German free-to-air stuff on Astra. It's
relatively simple to install a dish -- even I managed to do it and,
believe me, I am no expert. One point to remember: if you rent
accommodation, you will need the owner's permission to bolt a dish on
to the building.

I would buy a cheap sat Rx box in Germany, places like Media Mark sell
some very low cost digital boxes.
Possibly an LNB too. Probably better to buy the dish and associated
hardware in Ireland, as it is bulky and heavy.

Although I would recommend giving TV a miss and getting to know the local
culture.
