Complete newbie needs help to see BBC and Ukrainian TV

Dear all

I have never had a satellite before and am quite confused what I see on sites like lyngsat's sirius4 dot html Sirius 4 at 4.8°E - LyngSat

Quite simple and possibly a FAQ (but where is the FAQ) I would like to see BBC 1-4 and ITV 1-x AND the most popular Ukrainian (and possibly russian) channels
What do I need and where do I point it?
I live in The Netherlands

Thanks a lot!

the best source of russian programming would be NTV+, but I am not sure how far into Europe it goes, or the details of setting up a contract outside of Russia... If I find out more I will post it here :-)
