About to finally get satellite and had a few questions.Does dish network give you your local channels?How much does it cost to get satellite in each room? (6 rooms)Do you prefer Dish Network or Direct TV?Thanks for your help, the websites only provide so much information.Also I see they give you the standard receiver, what others are there?

I have Direct TV and get the local channels free. I've heardDish charges an extra $5 a month for them. The additional "boxes" cost around $5 a month each.So you would pay an additional $25 to have coveragein each room.Sometimes there are specials where youcan get up to 4 rooms for one price. Mine is thru Verizon so I pay one bill for the phone, internet and Direct TV. My service is reliable and very seldom have a problem with reception. The customer service and Tech Supportfor Direct TV is great.

I have only had Direct tv but I like it much better than cable. Direct does give local channels. Installation is usually free, but per month...they include one box in the price but its about $5 per month for each additional room.

Dish network is very good.and and ofcouse it gives all local channels.

If your on your PC alot I would recomend you purchase the HDTV on your PC software, some of them are scammy with poor quality but the one I purchased works pretty darn good for what I payed for it i am pretty pleased with the performance.!!! hd channels rock, i like the motogp showings!!

You have to pay some extra bucks to get DTV but I think it is worth it.
