You should be able to pick up your local news on just the old fashioned rabbit ear type antennas. I have Dish network at home and I have the problem of not getting local news, i get the news from like three county's away, so I hooked up a simple antenna and have had o problems since and they are relatively inexpensive and easy to install. If you are looking for major network news like CNN you may also want to try the new sites homepage, even most local channels have websites now and are updated frequently. Good luck.

Send a message via Yahoo to dishrodger
ever heard the expression, "want your cake & eat it too.
guess you either cancel your sat, or watch the news.

You may also want to consider getting a slingbox, that way you wouldn't have to cancel your subscription and can watch all your local channels and the news anywhere while traveling as long as you have internet access.

You could just subscribe to the news channels, if your cable company has that sort of service.
