Questions...

Being new here, I have a couple of questions.
I think I figured out that "DTV" is "Direct TV" and "DN" is "Dish Network" but what is "FTA"?

I've had DN for a few years now and not that happy with them. I liked DTV that my daughter has. At least they have a program guide that works.
I'm retired now and want to do some RVing with sat. TV.
From what I hear Direct TV is better "if you like sports". Well, I HATE sports!
I don't need HD either so that's not part of the equation. Does that mean I should avoid Direct TV?

Is either system easier to set up at a campground than the other?
Tanks, LarryK.

Hi LarryK,
I'll be glad to help you out. There is a better system that does not require a physical set up. There is nothing to install, no monthly fees, and you get unlimited access to over 3500 channels. Since you say you hate sports, you have a ton of other channels to choose from, and I bet you would enjoy it. All you do is pay a one-time fee of $49.95, and you get instant access. It's convenient and very affordable. Hope this information was helpful.

All the best.

Sat direct tv...

Thanks, but I don't think that's my answer either. Seems when we travel the internet commections aren't that good. I'm sure TV streeming would be a disaster.

Meaning of FTA

FTA stands for Free-To-Air

Thanks, I'm new to this retirement & travel thing and miss my sattellite TV from home.
This trip (3 months long) we're just using the bare-bones off the air ant. and a converter box. Hopefully next trip I'll be a little more with it and have a sat. receiver and will be able to set up a portable dish.

I'm learning a lot from this site.
Thanks again,
Larry k. (aka: michigancamper)
